I am not necessarily a fan of dropping dependencies. I think it is part of Perl
to use other modules instead of reinventing everything. Regarding Catmandu, the
developers are very dedicated and we will profit from future developments
without investing Koha developer time, while a change to our own solution might
help with performance now but might not be touched again for a long time.
