Katrin makes a fair point about keeping this bug on-task and letting wording
questions go elsewhere, but:
I agree that receive/received gets confusing quickly in spoken English.
"Outstanding" works but is not the most common usage. I'd go with "Quantity
expected" or "Quantity ordered."
