IMO it's not conceivable to push this code as it. We cannot have such code in
.pl, without tests, etc.

Why not just a $patron->unblessed then use columns.def instead of listing of
the patron's attributes?

Also found a typo: +        'dateoffbirth' => $patron->dateofbirth,
