Yeah certainly Liz! Galen Charlton's reply in the forum is this:
"..it would be simple to adjust C4::XSLT::XSLTParse4Display() so 
that it could make the framework code available to the stylesheet, 
which it turn would allow one to write conditional logic."
This bug is five years ago and I can't recall the use case for this, I will
reply to this once I recall the use case.
