Right.. I've given this some thought, mulled it over with Nick and others at
Hackfest and proved to myself that it's doesn't seem to break anything.

I'm going to PQA and push with the expectation that if we find issues down the
line I can rely upon our growing team of ES competent people to dive in a fix
things quickly. 

Thankyou everyone for your efforts on this one over the long years it's been
developed.
