We discussed this bug during the Development Meeting and concluded that a
simpler fix for now would be to add a system preference to enable/disable
charting functionality entirely.

In this way we would be able to skip the 'all results' call entirely whilst we
work on another implementation to allow fetching of results in a more memory
friendly way.
