Can you be more specific about the examples?

I always assumed there is only one standard, with the documents published on
the LOC page: http://www.loc.gov/marc/ I know that Germany and other countries
are also participating in the development of the standard by participation in
the committees (http://www.loc.gov/marc/mac/MAC_members.html).
