I've rebased on master again now..

I re-ordered the patches so we could apply the final QA followup first to allow
testing prior to and after applying the rest of the patchset.

Hmm.. I hate SHA1 issues.. they're always suspiciously hard to fix..

So.. as an alternative in case these still don't apply nicely I've pushed a
