I understand your concern Rudolf, but dealing with that exception everywhere in
the code is painful.
What we proposed with bug 23425 and bug 23846 is to display the "normal" detail
page with a warning, and offer a script to catch such problematic data.

You can still edit (Button Edit > Edit record from the detail page) it and
save, that will fix the encoding issue.
