According to Bug 11677 "limit to currently available items" should be working
on the recent releases, however, I am testing on a 19.11.06 and while results
are being limited, they are including items marked as Lost. Based on the test
plan in Bug 11677, I assumed items marked as Lost would count as not available
and records with Lost items and all other items checked out would not appear
when the "limit to currently available items" was selected.

Is the "limit to currently available items" working or not working for others? 

Also +1 for the option to limit search results to items currently available in
the patron home library.
