Sometimes where your document is deliver depends of the room you're into (BNF
Tolbiac site). Sometimes its a document from a specific department you can
consult only in the department reading room (BNF Richelieu site).

At my library (BULAC), we have a return desk at the entrance of the library
where we keep all waiting reserves. We have another desk in another floor where
we bring all documents asked from closed stacks. And finally, we have a place
for rare or damaged books. Usually, we know from start a rare book will go into
the rare books special room. But sometimes, a rare or damaged book may be asked
and deliver to the common desk. The librarian checking in books as may decide
it's a book that should be consulted in the rare books room. So it's put on a
shelving cart and checked in again in the rare books room.
