Struggling with this one..

If I add a bunch of warnings in.. I have to trigger the job to run in the
foreground (else we throw away the warnings into a black hole)..

It all works perfectly.. revert it to using background processing.. the item
gets marked as lost.. the return happens.. but the fee is NOT charged!

Completely confused..
