I'm also not entirely sure about the final followup.. it feels like the
intention of ->call is to loop through available plugins too.. call_recursive
is almost a match code wise.

I think it'll be difficult for developers to know which of the two methods to
call when.. and perhaps difficult for plugin developers to understand what they
should be returning... something that can be fed back into @args or something
entirely different..
