The best would be to try "as in real life" the 1.9.1 and report errors 
in bugs.koha.org. If you have problems with bugzilla, don't hesitate to ask.
The z39.50 support is a simple task for me, who knows the internal 
structure of the 1.9.1 perfectly, it would be hard for you, imho.
