Thesaurus value builder for category

I searched on subject "a" to get a list of subjects starting with "a", then I 
searched on subject ANTS which I found in OPAC so I know it exists.  On both 
searches I got no results.

I also inserted a new authority but while it jumped from the insert field to 
the search field it didn't appear in the drop-down list or anywhere that I can 
see.
