Summary: Adding item without barcode results in unsaved data
Product: Koha
Version: CVS
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: Acquisitions (Simple)
AssignedTo: tonnesen at cmsd.bc.ca
ReportedBy: a.c.li at ieee.org
QAContact: koha-devel at lists.sourceforge.net
In the MARC simple acquisitions mode, when I get to the Items screen, suppose I
forgot to enter a barcode before saving. The screen will pretend to save the
data (and displays a line on the screen corresponding to the data just entered);
however, the data is not actually written to the database.
In addition not the data not being saved, the screen will now also have two Edit
links with identical itemnum's. This is not reflected in the display shown to
the user. (In the display, the item number appears to be properly incremented.)
If the user at this point realizes that he/she has forgotten to type the
barcode, he/she may press Edit, type in the barcode, then save the record. The
screen will look like the record is saved. However, the data is not really saved.
