Ah, if only the Koha-DB was used to find the record, and the MARC-DB was used 
to display it -- then we'd have the best of both worlds.

But if I have to choose one, I'd have to say that the "stripped" date -- just 
the date, no other information -- is the better thing to store in the Koha-DB.  
That makes searching and administration easier, and it's always possible to re-
work templates later to pull additional information from the 
marc_subfield_table -- right?
