Yes there is - you just set the MARC parameter to "No" (or perhaps it's 
off). You can choose between Normal (which has budgets and is quite 
complicated) and Simple acquisitions (which doesn't).

> Also, are there plans for making Koha suitable for DVDs, VHS tapes etc?

You will need to be a bit more specific about what you mean by 
"suitable". Libraries (particularly public libraries) already use Koha 
for DVD's and a range of media - including cataloguing websites etc as well.
