Koha Developers' Meeting Summary

Hi gang, we had another well-attended (and exciting!) developers' meeting
today. Here's a very brief summary of what went on. Feel free to expand on
stuff I missed, etc.

Agenda: http://wiki.koha.org/doku.php?id=meetingnotes07july02
Time: 19:00 GMT: http://tinyurl.com/3ajpxh
Place: irc.katipo.co.nz #koha
Moderated by: Joshua Ferraro
Roll Call: paul, chris, russ, ryan, owen, WPL, kolibrie, Irma, thd, tumer,
sanspach, pecisk

Brief intros, welcome to newbies, Bart library IT guyfrom Westerville Ohio, USA and
kolibrie, a programmer from Fairfax, VA USA

Open Positions in the Community
We need role descriptions, and we can ask for volunteers and people can
        nominate their favorite volunteer

Translations Manager - kados can continue to do this, he enjoys it,
but doesn't have quite enough time to do a great job, but will
happily hand it over if someone with a vested interest wants to
                take over

Documentation Manager - Russ volunteered, no-one objected :-)
Quality Assurance Manager - Chris volunteered, no-one objected :-)
FAQ Manager - jaron expressed interest, he'll let us know if he is willing
to commit to it next week

we'd like to get more users involved in the process, aren't sure
        how to attract them

it'd be useful to send a mail to koha and koha-devel list explaining
what a Kaitaiki is, why we need one, and finding out if anyone would
be interested in filling that role.

Git - Distributed Version Control -- we're still hashing out the details,
nothing solid to show yet, check back at the next meeting.

Release of 3.beta
goal is to release it in July
a new installer is top priority
second might be a new set of templates if we have time
        bug fixing continues

Koha and Copyright
thd sent through some clarification on copyright to help us understand the issues
        http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/koha-devel/2007-07/msg00001.html (section 5)
there's some good data there, check it out
