I raise this since I just installed the stable release.

The About Koha page shows no difference between the beta release
and stable:

Koha version: 	3.00.01.005

Perhaps the git tag or some other unique version ID could be
shown on this page so that admins can tell exactly which version
of the software is installed.

I thought I had made a mistake when I noticed that the version
number had not changed and it took a while digging through the
source code to satisfy myself that yup, stable was indeed installed
now.
