Debian's x.y.z number is not quite linux-style: there have been full
(non-development) x.1 release versions.

I'm not against the idea but a difficulty I have with Debian's
nick-names is that (except for sid) there seems little meaning or
relationship or progression to them, so remembering that lenny is 5.0
and squeeze is 6.0 is not straightforward for me.
