Quoting from a previous try to get UTF8- moving, report 9951:

How would you suggest to resolve the old passwords given that Koha and used perl libs would encode/decode properly ?

No reason not to support it, but it needs some more thought..

Hi to all,

to check UTF-8 support of Koha (bug 11944)

we find problems with create/update a patron's password if the password
uses a Japanese char.
It could be a problem of the perl libray Crypt::Eksblowfish.

I ask your opinion:
Do we want to support full utf-8 in password for patrons ?
