Letting folks know that Ubuntu have released a patched libdbd-mysql-perl
which claims to have fixed the issue. 

 

I haven't confirmed that it fixes it myself, but it should be a trivial
change, so I imagine that it does.

Hi all,

 

If you're using Ubuntu, you may have noticed this message filling up your
logs.

 

It looks like Ubuntu recently released a version of libmysqlclient21 which
outputs this warning message if you try to set MYSQL_OPT_RECONNECT.

 

DBD::mysql sets it to false and therein lies the problem:

At a glance, the only real short-term option seems to be to downgrade the
MySQL client, but keeping my eyes open.
