Looks like someone has a PR for the MySQL/MariaDB issue: https://github.com/bugzilla/bugzilla/pull/107/files 

 

Also looks like Mozilla have gone a different route with their Bugzilla fork:

The DB hasnt changed at all, mysql versions have. So they will have to be fixed manually.
There are some table names that are now reserved words in mysql so need to be back ticked. Please send the errors to me so I can fix.

Bugzilla isn't really being actively maintained anymore so I will have to fix these. There is no version to upgrade to.
