The Issue: When updating patron information for multiple patrons (i.e., within a family), each patron must be individually accessed, edited, and saved. Depending on the size of the family, and the amount of changes to be made to each patron, this can take a long time to accomplish. It also creates more opportunities for inadvertent typos, as the information is repeatedly entered and saved. The Solution: We want to create check box that appears on a patron’s edit screen, if there are linked accounts. When this box is checked, upon clicking the Save button, Koha will bring up all linked accounts, and pre-populate the fields with the updated information. Staff would then be able to review the information, and optionally change any field that is specific to that patron (a unique email address, for example). Once staff verifies the information, the Save button is clicked to update the linked patron. This project has been quoted to be about $6000 to fund. If you are interested in helping to fund this project, please let me know. -- Mark Foster, IT Coordinator Community Library Network 208-449-6862 (work cell) 208-773-1506 x321 (office) markf at communitylibrary.net -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "koha-US Mailing List" group. The Issue: Currently, the OverduesBlockCirc blocks an individual from checking out an item if they have an overdue. This overdue generates a block/override message for each item the patron checks out, as long as they have an overdue item on their account. This is not a big issue if they have one or two items that they are checking out. However, when you have family that has checked out 25-50 items, and the items are overdue, even by a day, and they drop them in the book drop and then come to the checkout desk with another 25-50 items, this can be a burdensome task. The staff member either has to take time and locate all the items from the checkout desk and check them in, or they have to checkout items, and override the block on each item. Turning off the OverduesBlockCirc is not an option in our case, because in general, we want this to stop people from checking items out if they have overdues that haven’t been returned, and we do not accrue fines. The Solution: We want to create a preference that would allow session overrides. The means, when the preference is on, it would allow the block message to come up, and if overridden, the override would remain in effect while the staff member remains on the checkout screen for that patron. Once they navigate away, the override is cleared. This project has been quoted to be about $5500 to fund. If you are interested in helping to fund this project, please let me know. ___________________________ *Christopher Brannon* *IT Coordinator* *[image: CDAL-color (Signature Size)] *702 E Front Ave Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814 (208)769-2315 Ext. 456 cbrannon at cdalibrary.org www.cdalibrary.org Keep tabs on us at: [image: Coeur d'Alene Public Library is on Facebook!] [image: Coeur d'Alene Public Library is on Twitter!] -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "koha-US Mailing List" group.
