Hi Michael.
I received your answer only this morning.
You are right we are not supposed to be adding features to 3.0.1
And this patch won't come into official 3.0
But we have to make it for 3.0 since our customers are testing 
developments on stable bases.
This is why we decided to make the patch for 3.0
But it shouldnot have been sent before validation.

I hope mine clarifies our position.
