Hei, Lars!

Have a look at the documentation in the file misc/translator/translate:
http://git.koha-community.org/gitweb/?p=koha.git;a=blob;f=misc/translator/translate;hb=HEAD

Basically you replace the danish .po files with your files, then do
"translate install dk-DK".

Hi Lars, 

 

I hope I can explain it correctly. The process is depending on your
version of Koha, because there is a new translation script in 3.2. But
it's always not hard to do.

 

For 3.2:

 

-          copy updated po files to /misc/translator/po

-          run: perl translate install <language-code> from
/misc/translator

Remember to activate the language in your sys prefs after template
generation.

Hi!

I have finished the danish translation of the OPAC-files and the
Intranet is probably at about 20% and growing. But I know that there are
some errors in the OPAC-files. Therefore I would like to test and
correct them. I have installed Koha on a mascihe here in my office -
only for testing purposes. Now I need a (hopefully simple) explanation
on how to install a new po-file on that.

That way I could make the corrections in the po-file, install it and
then check, if the corrections come up at the right place. Is there such
an explanation somewhere?

You don't have to wait 3.2 release to test your translation. You can 
test on 3.2beta. Do you have it installed? Do you know how to activate 
your language?

Koha system preferences are located in Admin > System preferences. They 
are defined in a bundle of .pref text files. Those files are translatable.

Hi Lars, 

 

if you are not sure how to do it, just translate a few and install the file in your installation.

 

My experience is, if you translate the variable names, they will show up - that's not what you want J Translate the explanation only.

 

The German file is working, but I suspect a small problem with some strings, hope I can test that a bit more in the next days.

That is the problem. I dont have 3.2beta installed, so I would have to set up an extra computer just for this, and my impression was that 3.2final is so close that this is not really worth the trouble?




Just translate the explanation. 


But leave the variable-names in (as in the NZ-version) or remove them (as in the GE and FR versions) ?

I don't know. You may have to ask to Chris, the translation manager.

Only translation manager for a bit longer until you take over Frederic
:) But yes, ideally we want the translations finished before 3.2.0 is
released. Before the final release there will be a release candidate.
And then for the 3.2.0 release, we will only be including .po files
which have at least 50% translation done.
Once 3.2.0 is released people will download it, and the expectation is
that the translations will be as complete as possible. So if you can,
testing it now, so that we don't release and someone switches to
Danish and Koha stops working :)
