Once you have a sandbox set up, you can now pick 'Install translation' from the "Actions" menu in the sandbox manager and pick to install French, German or Spanish (I tried to pick the three most popular, but let me know if you want another option added). Once you submit the form, it'll take a moment to return the output of the commands that run... you can then enable the translation via the koha system preferences inside your sandbox as usual. The release is scheduled for around the 23th. This means it's the right time to head over to the translation platform: https://translate.koha-community.org/projects/ Reminder: if you add or change a translation in version 19.11, then you must also copy it to 20.05 and 20.11. Otherwise your work will be lost for future versions. Why is the french file bigger than any other one ? - french terminology.po : 19600 strings - 2nd bigger file : 8500 strings - 3rd bigger file : 4000 strings Is it very useful to keep so much strings ? Some of them are very similar (receive, received...) while others (tag, issues...) may have several translations. Could we clean some strings and / or (easily) regenerate the file ? best regards, Emmanuel Bétemps [http://www.ville-caluire.fr/fichiers/images/signature.png] -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... It's used by Pootle to suggest the words from terminology when translating the other files. So we tried to regenerate/update it, it could be useful for other language. There was the proposal of taking the file from another language and replace the french one. So we tried it since we can download and upload .po files So what we did was: - download french terminology.po as backup https://translate.koha-community.org/fr/terminology/terminology.po "Download for offline translation" - download Spanish terminology.po (actually named essential.po) - open it with the libre version of Poedit - selection of all the string lines - top menu => edit => clear translation - saved the file - opened it with a text editor - changed a few lines to match of the original french file "Language: fr\n" "X-Pootle-Path: /fr/terminology/terminology.po\n" - deleted Spanish and Arabic string comments in the file - renamed essential.po to terminology.po - (not sure what was useful in the above steps, that was guesswork) - on this page https://translate.koha-community.org/fr/terminology/terminology.po - Upload translations => selected the file Result: Nothing changed, same file as before in the web interface and the export directory: https://translate.koha-community.org/export/terminology/fr/ Does anyone have hints about how to upload .po files directly? Cheers, -- Victor Grousset/tuxayo
