[Koha-win32] Installing & using Koha in windows XP Platform

Do a search for search for the hosts file located in
...WINDOWS/system32/drivers/etc 
(use the search function from the Windows XP start menu)

Open the hosts file with notepad you should see something like this:

# Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.

# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
#      102.54.94.97     rhino.acme.com          # source server
#       38.25.63.10     x.acme.com              # x client host

127.0.0.1       localhost

This file basically controls what can be opened on a local intranet by the
browser, so in order to run
Koha we need to give it permission by adding these two lines immediately
below that localhost line.

127.0.0.1       opac           # Koha Library Software OPAC     
127.0.0.1       intranet       # Koha Library Software INTRANET	

Save the file and then try to run the OPAC and INTRANET from the browser
again.



Dear All,

I have installed the following version of koha & its related
application on windows_XP, SP-2 & found the following problems-
koha=2.2.9
Apache HTTP Server=2.0.45
ActivePerl=5.8.8.822-MSWin32-x86-280952
Mysql server & Client=4.0.12



When I type & hit on the local host (http://localhost/), it
automatically goes on the following page


http://localhost/cgi-bin/koha/opac-main.pl (search the Catalogue)


And When I try http://localhost/intranet/, then the following screen appear-

Object not found!
The requested URL was not found on this server. If you entered the URL
manually please check your spelling and try again.

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

Error 404

localhost
