I think Mike's point was that you can pretty easily re-establish basic 
searching over Zebra using Net::Z3950 -- just to get the ball rolling. In 
fact, the query languages supported by Net::Z3950 and the up-and-coming 
ZOOM/Perl API are the same, so it will be easy to migrate.
