Adding to above comment: I found that if I use the tab key to move focus away
from the search box, then move the focus back to the search box by clicking in
it, the entry is cleared.  So the "focusin" event code is running, but not at
the right time.  I'm not familiar with jquery so any help with fixing this
would be greatly appreciated.
