Nope, it happens in 3.8.8 which doesn't have CCSR and the error is in the staff client - not the OPAC.
In my test the error happens when the CCSR theme is enabled for the OPAC and doesn't happen when the prog theme is enabled. The same is true when I check out 3.8.x running off the same database and manually switch the 'opacthemes' preference between 'prog' and 'ccsr' in the database.
