Here are the steeps to recreate the display issue: 1) Go to a patron record that already has a primary email filled in. 2) Click on the edit button for the alternate address. 3) Enter a new alternate email address, different than the primary address. Save. 4) View the patron information and you'll see that no matter what you entered in the alternate email address field, it is displaying the primary email address instead (so it's now showing under primary and alternate).
