It looks a bit like there were accidentally 2 codes added to one $a. gle and eng (it's 3 letter codes always). Maybe should have been a repeated one instead.
Agree. I usually treat this as `error` in my record migration routines and split them accordingly. As it's an official Koha example record however, I wonder if there is some area on this planet where it's done like that. (I know that we had quite a few of these guys in our old Aleph-records.)

I can say that for our union catalog (K10plus) that the = is included in the data although the punctuation is omitted in general. Maybe because it's not possible to guess it reliably?
I think so. Also note that both records at least (for me) seem to specify the same title but the translation of the title and the responsibility statement are handled differently.
