Can't reproduce, tried this using fr-FR but can't reproduce the problem. In fact, can't reproduce the feature either i.e. the french translation I added for 'Books' does not show on the detail page at all when french is selected, still shows 'Books' next to "Type de document"
I had that happen too. The problem with this bug is that it definitely keeps happening in different installations/settings, but it's still hard to pin down.
