This makes for tedious troubleshooting. Patron is not allowed to place a hold on multiple titles in the list for various reasons: The warning message says "Cannot place hold on some items" with no explanation. It would be better if all reasons displayed. This example has clear display: Patron already has the maximum number of holds allowed per record on a title 1. Have a patron with a hold request, say on a book about cats. 2. From the catalog or patron account, search for books about cats. 3. Select multiple titles, including the one already requested. 4. Attempt to place holds on all the titles. 5. Cannot place hold messages says "Too many holds for [Title]: A patron from [Library] can only place...." This example is confusing: Patron already has a title checked out, and AllowHoldsOnPatronsPossessions is set to don't allow 1. Have a patron with a hold request, say on a book about cats. 2. From the catalog or patron account, search for books about cats. 3. Select multiple titles, including the one currently checked out. 4. Attempt to place holds on all the titles. 5. The warning message says "Cannot place hold on some items" with no explanation. Note that if you try to place the hold from only the record with the item the patron has checked out, the warning reads: "Cannot place hold. A patron from [Library] is already in possession..."
