Traditionally the " ; " precedes the numbering in the $v if it is present. If there was no 8XX $v, then there was no punctuation at the end of the $t, because the field displayed within parentheses. I think it would be fine without terminal punctuation and/or punctuation between $t & $v fields, e.g.: Series: Hines, Jim C.
