There is already a "Include closed invoices" checkbox in the filters to the right with this patch. So you can still get to the full list whenever needed from the receive page. I think this works similar as "archived" for suggestions, but I understand a link might also be another good addition.
I did test. It works well, but I'm not sure it's intuitive. Marie-Luce told me it's similar to suggestions and news/HTML customizations and that clients took a while to understand how to get their archived things back when those were introduced.
