Using borrowernumber makes people make the connection to the database field named the same and to the URL parameter they see in a lot of places. Adding the borrowernumber to the patron information was, I seem to remember, done to help people make that connection. If we did change it, maybe using something like "Patron ID" would make it more obvious that this is an internal thing. But I am not sure we might not cause more confusion... on the other hand in translation I think we do use "Benutzernummer" in some places at least for borrowernumber.
