Could be used in conjunction with the Staff interface mandatory option so that it has to be filled out or updated with each edit of the patron. We have a field that requires staff to initial the account each time they edit the record. I use some jquery to clear that field when staff first go into the patron edit screen. (This is particularly helpful with libraries that use a shared staff/front desk account.)
