Teachers *are* patrons, so what you did is correct.
Note: Hitting Enter in instructor field Saves :( let me press the button.

I just meant the change in item type and collection code. You can check those from the standard record details page.
4) Disable course, verify item attributes have reverted. - I still see the Course Reserves in Item's catalog detail page when course Inactive
