http://bugs.koha.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=3472 --- Comment #5 from Jane Wagner <jwagner@ptfs.com> 2009-09-25 15:02:05 --- As discussed with Owen on the IRC, I'm fine with merging the two OPAC message sections. That would be much cleaner. The other question that came up is whether we still need the patron record opac note field at all. Our discussion on the IRC: <owen> In fact I wonder if there is a reason to continue to use the old OPAC notes mechanism at all <owen> Maybe we should just do away with that part of it? <jwagner> owen, when I started looking at the feature, the distinction I saw between the new messaging feature and the existing circ/opac notes was a question of "permanent" notes. This might not be as much of an issue for opac notes, but it was for circ notes. There's notes you don't ever want to overwrite, like "child has parent's permission for X". So the new feature and the circ notes are both needed, but I don't know if anyone has an equivalent need for "permanent" OPAC notes. <owen> Yeah, I agree. The circ screen would have a need for more permanent notes The question for everyone is, does anyone use the existing opac notes field for any permanent notes, or could it be deleted? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.koha.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla3/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are watching all bug changes.
