Hi David. Yes, the spend building time is the time Perl needs to obtain all the data required to generate the JSON document.
Ok cool. Perhaps there's ways we could optimize that. Are you using Koha::Items to get the items? The ORM isn't optimised for performance, so it might be necessary to use a more targeted approach to get the time down. I've got some approaches/patterns for that.
