For email or phone number, you could use an asterisk (*555-1212 or *.rainbow.net) wildcard character. In this feature, searching (212) 555-1212 and 212 555 1212 were NOT equivalent, you had to search for the phone number as entered, or truncated to just a part (like *1212*). Mickey suggests that we limit the search string to the last four digits (the most unique part of the phone number).
