[Bug 41241] New: "No items are available" message is inaccurate, confusing
https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=41241 Bug ID: 41241 Summary: "No items are available" message is inaccurate, confusing Initiative type: --- Sponsorship --- status: Product: Koha Version: 25.05 Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Circulation Assignee: koha-bugs@lists.koha-community.org Reporter: esther.melander@bywatersolutions.com QA Contact: testopia@bugs.koha-community.org CC: gmcharlt@gmail.com, kyle@bywatersolutions.com To replicate: 1. Create a circulation rule for a patron category and item type. The rule should be set so that there can be unlimited holds, but only 1 hold per record, allow item level holds. 2. Set the AllowHoldPolicyOverride to don't allow. 3. Find a bibliographic record that has multiple available items and place a hold. 4. Trap the hold by checking it in and confirming. 5. Return to the bibliographic record and try placing a second hold. Koha prevents the holds and states "Cannot place hold, No items are available to be placed on hold." In this scenario, Koha is doing what it has been told to do by preventing a second hold on the same record by a patron that already has the item on hold. However, the messaging is a little confusing because there are other items available. Instead, the messaging should be, "Cannot place hold, Too many holds for this record...." -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. You are watching all bug changes.
