This bug tracks the DBIO project evolution and the eventual development of migration tooling. Key benefits for Koha: - SQL::Abstract (modern) replaces SQL::Abstract::Classic - Native desired-state deployment (no SQL::Translator dependency) - Async storage interface (all_async, find_async, etc.) - Built-in replicated storage with access brokers (rotating credentials) - Automatic change tracking (insert/update/delete logging) - DBIO::Candy / DBIO::Cake sugar for result class definitions - Internal fixes (e.g. get_from_storage no longer triggers spurious __DIE__ exceptions on tables with multiple unique constraints) Migration path is expected to be largely mechanical (namespace rename from DBIx::Class:: to DBIO::), but will require: 1. Tooling to regenerate Koha::Schema::Result classes under the DBIO namespace 2. Audit of any SQL::Abstract::Classic-specific syntax in searches 3. Replacement of SQL::Translator-based deploy with DBIO's native deploy 4. Testing on all supported databases (MySQL/MariaDB primarily) This is a long-term tracking bug.
