It allows to export MARC, but also adds an entry to export "Today's checked in barcodes" to the More menu. The export feature provides an additional column with checkboxes to the checkouts table, so you can select the items you want. Then you can choose an export format at the bottom of the table (currently MARC with/without items and user defined ones from CSV profiles. But, yes, maybe adding that option to get a list of item barcodes from export would be nice, but I'd rather not have to do it from Circ history. Could it be done from current checkout screen (since often items went out at various times and patrons check out a lot of books)?
