So, with the release so close, how should we deal with this? Revert? Push forward with Bug 16572 and Bug 16573? Or do we have other options?

With Bug 16572 + new perl dependency DBIx::RunSQL we can install where we used to, not systems with MySQL 5.7. To add support for mysql 5.7 we need Bug 16573 + another one to fix i18n installer files.
