I already have migrated a library from MARC21 to UNIMARC (with very complete MARC records), so I already have some code written. But I don't have even a minute do investigate wether my code can be re-used & remove Koha specific stuff.
So far as I know, few people trying to compile the MARC21 to UNIMARC conversion table. Taiwan made a USMARC to UNIMARC and UNIMARC to UNIMARC conversion table during 1980s. Yes, we did. We catalog Chinese language books based on Chinese MARC which derived from UNIMARC. We catalog western language books, including English, French, etc., based on USMARC because the original catalog information come from OCLC.
4. OTHER SIMULTANEOUS MULTIPLE MARC SOFTWARE. I am uncertain whether the different record semantics were indexed centrally in the case of the catalogues that I know of in Taiwan. This may be an issue for the European Library union catalogue.
So far as I know, NBINet(National Taiwan Bibliographic Network) accept bibliographic records form its member libraries. Those records formats including USMARC, MARC 21 and Chinese MARC version 3 and version 4, maybe more. Chinese MARC derived from UNIMARC. NBINet make dozens index for title, author, subject headings, etc. for each MARC format. NBINet do not change any bibliographic records.
