AFAICT there were a couple of patches written for this, which were pushed to the master/16.05.x/3.22.x branches. I've searched the koha-bugs and koha-devel mailing lists and also peeked at the IRC logs for the #koha channel but could not find a reference as to why these commits were reverted for 16.05.x only.
